# QRiks

> QRiks lets people pay national QR codes in 25 countries with USDT on Polygon. The customer scans a local QR code; a vetted local payer pays it from a domestic account in local currency; an independent validator confirms the payment before the customer's USDT is released from a smart-contract escrow. No local bank account, card or cash is needed.

## Key facts

- Customers pay with USDT on Polygon; network fees are charged in USDT (no POL needed).
- The quote shows the local amount, exchange rate, QRiks fee and network cost before confirmation.
- Funds stay in escrow until a validator in that country confirms the merchant was paid; otherwise they are returned.
- The customer wallet is created at sign-up and protected by a passkey on the device; QRiks does not hold balances.
- Payers (people with a local bank account) earn USDT for paying QR orders; validators earn a fee for confirming payments.
