About UPI
In India, QR codes are paid through UPI (Unified Payments Interface), operated by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). UPI QR codes are everywhere in India, from roadside vendors to airports, and settle instantly between banks.
You will see UPI codes at chai stalls, auto-rickshaws, kirana stores, restaurants and monument ticket booths. With QRiks every one of them can be paid with USDT, and the merchant receives Indian rupees as usual.
Can I pay UPI QR codes without a Indian bank account?
Yes. With QRiks you scan the UPI code and pay with USDT. A vetted payer in India pays the merchant from their own Indian account, so you don't need a local bank account, card or phone number.
What does the merchant in India receive?
The merchant receives Indian rupees (INR) through UPI, exactly like a payment from a local customer. They don't need to know about QRiks or accept crypto.
What do I pay with?
USDT on Polygon from your QRiks wallet. The quote shows the exchange rate, our fee and the network cost before you confirm.
Who runs UPI?
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is operated by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
What if the payment doesn't go through?
Your USDT stays in escrow until an independent validator in India confirms that the merchant was paid. If the merchant wasn't paid, your USDT is returned.
Where can I pay with UPI in India?
Anywhere a UPI QR code is displayed: chai stalls, auto-rickshaws, kirana stores, restaurants and monument ticket booths.
